Scope and content
This object is a short and stout cylindrical basket with a removable circular lid. The basket is made of interwoven plant fibers. The container part of the basket has a light yellow and brown checkered pattern because of the two different colors of fiber used and how they are woven together. The bottom of the container is the solid light yellow color with some thread around the outside holding the main weaving around the basket in place. Inside the container is lined with a cream colored cloth fabric. The main body is presumably a cardboard with the woven and cloth coverings. The lid of the container is identical to the body with the outside being the light yellow and brown woven plant fibers and the underside being the cream colored cloth. Around the edge of the lid there is a brown fiber lip sewn into place. A small red label on the underside of the lid has some Chinese characters on it in white and then in black writing reds "Made in The People's Republic of China."
