Scope and content
The main body of this object is a circular piece of wood which is presumably part of small tree stump or branch. The top and bottom of the wood are flat and the curved edges are smooth besides a few dents and scratches. There is a notch that was made in one side of the tree stump that connects to a circular hole drilled through the top of the wood to the bottom. In this hole is inserted a cylindrical piece of wood with a slot down the center. In the slot the tip of the chopping tool has been inserted and is held in place by a nail which has been driven through the cylindrical wood and through the tip of the knife. The knife itself has a slightly curved blade which is the length of the wooden base. It is made of metal which looks hand crafted and is quite rusted along its length. A handle attached to the end of the blade is cylindrical in shape and also made of wood which is hand carved and quite smooth. The joint that goes through the tip of the blade allows the knife to move up and down to an almost ninety degree angle. The cylindrical wooden piece also moves slightly up and down to aid in the knife's movement. On the top and bottom surface of the main body of wood some Chinese lettering has been carved. The wood is quite smooth and slippery.
