Scope and content

A large Chinese bowl, probably used as a serving bowl. The object is a piece of glazed porcelain, hand turned, with an all over grey green tone underglaze. Multi-coloured enamel brushwork decorates the exterior sides and interior bottom of the bowl. The brush work depicts the "Four Seasons" pattern. A potter's mark has all but disappeared from the underside of the bowl, leaving only faint red markings. Evidence of three fractures and a large chip.
