Scope and content
A Chinese bowl, probably used for rice. The object is a glazed piece of porcelain, hand turned, with a green tone underglaze on the exterior and a grey green tone underglaze on the interior. This piece could be referred to as "Celadon" ware. A potter's mark appear on the underside of the bowl in blue brush. The mark would to be a typical "shop mark" which are often difficult to transcribe. An etched mark is visible in the mid- bottom of the bowl, and it is likely an ownership or felicitation symbol.
