Scope and content

This object is a box which houses a set of small vases and coasters. The shape of the box is rectangular made of material that is presumably much like chipboard. The outsides of the box have been covered in a light brown fabric which has a navy blue and golden design on the material. The navy blue forms lines and squares across the fabric with the gold forming flowers in the center of the square designs. The bottom of the box is covered in a layer of white parchment paper with a red 9 stamped in one corner. The lid of the box is also made of presumably chip board covered in the same fabric. It has two piece of material sewed on the front that have cream colored plastic sticks attached to them. These sticks are inserted through small fabric loops to hold the lid of the box closed. When opened the underside of the lid is made of a stuffed rectangular piece of white fabric to protect the delicate vases inside. A piece of cream fabric is attached midway up one side of the lid and to the side of the box to hold the lid at a ninety degree angle. The inside of the main body of the box is made up of sixteen slots. Eight of these slots are skinny rectangles which hold the coasters and eight are small and wider rectangles which hold the vases. Each of these slots is covered with a white fabric which is stuffed with presumably cotton to protect the pieces held within. The slots are made with a type of cardboard and can be removed if pulled on. Each slot is separated by a piece of thick cardboard that is covered in the same fabric as the box and creates dividers for each compartment.
