Scope and content
Chinese wine cup. The object is a glazed piece of porcelain, hand shaped with an all over green tone underglaze. The exterior sides and interior bottom of the cup is decorated with multi-colored enamel brushwork applied over the glaze. The brushwork depict the `Four Season' pattern. There is no potter's mark. However an etched symbol appears inside the cup at the bottom. The mark looks to be the symbol for 'public'. As there are no further classifiers one might translate it as 'just public'. This would indicate it's use to have been in a place which served the general public as opposed to personal or home use.
