General note

One handkerchief from a collection [CM 3808 - CM 3812], of handkerchiefs and fans, that were gifts given in 1916, to Mildred Farrow, the donor's mother, by their Chinese domestic servant, Fong. Mrs. Mildred Farrow was born in New Westminster, November 12, 1879, and was adopted into the A.C. Wells family. She was a life member of the Carman Church, Womans Missionary Society. Her home was at 46998 Prairie Central Road. She died on June 28, 1964. Her husband, Arthur Farrow, was born on December 8, 1881, in Dudley, Worcestershire, and came to Chilliwack in 1899 to work on the Wells farm in Sardis. Arthur worked there for eight years, the latter three as herdsman until he left to take charge and buy cows for the Hygienic Dairy in Matsqui. Arthur came back to Chilliwack in 1910, when he married Mildred Wells.
