Newspaper clipping from the Bulletin of Chief and Petty Officer Association dated July, 1989. Soue Kee emigrated to from China in 1909 to Esquimalt. He was sponsored by the father of Jack (Uncle Jack) Tang, Yip Tang. He left his family, wife and children in China to come and work for a better life. His brother, Tang, Kam Hey, joined him for a short time but went back to China, Soue never did return home to his family but is very likely to have transpacific ties to the family in china today. He was a well- known figure to the Navy and community of old Esquimalt. There are still people alive in Esquimalt today who remember Soue Kee.
