This tin contianer has a small lip both top and bottom, and a seam down one side. There is a strip of metal which has been shaped so that it has a half circular groove and each side of the strip is attached to the can. The screw on lid has a diameter of 4.8cm and it has a paper liner. On removal of the lid a strong odour of fuel oil is noticed.

A clear glass bottle inside a cardboard box, with directions on a sheet of paper. All the directions are in Chinese, but below the instructions, "U-I-OIL SOLE MANUFACTURER WOG CHEUNG WH" appears in English printing. The bottle is oval shape, with almost straight shoulders. A cork stopper is in the top. The glass is full of many tiny air bubbles. There are two seams, which run from the base to the top lip. These seams are kitty corner from each other. A red and orange label appears on one side, with Chinese print and "U-O-OIL..." appearing at the bottom in English printing. Three Chinese symbols appear vertically on back of the bottle. A brown liquid is in the bottle. The box is orange brown, with red print. "54364" and "54326" appearing on the side. A side flap for this box has come off and is inside the box.

Very small tubular three-piece mould colourless glass bottle. No markings. Cork in top opening. Note: The term "colourless" is used to describe glass withoiut any colour. Colourless glass requires silica (sand) which is almost free of iron, and both a flux and a stabilizer without any noticeable impurities.

A clear glass vial without a stopper in the top. The top has a outturned lip. This vial has two seams, which indicates it was made from a two part mould. The neck is long and narrow. On the walls of the bottle Chinese letters are embossed. 70% of the walls are covered with a white paper label. All the print on the label is in Chinese and is blue. Brown residue remains in specks in the vial and covers the floor. The bottom is also embossed with Chinese print.

A rectangular green glass vial with orange powder inside. A cork is in the top, on the top of this cork is Chinese print in black Indian ink. The vial was sealed with a thin layer of wax, but the seal has been broken. There are no seams in this vial, but there are bubbles in the glass. The top is cut of without a lip. Vial is made of blown glass.

A bluey glass vial. There is a cork in the top, which has been sealed with wax. The glass has bubbles in it and is uneven. There is a dent in one side and the shoulders are wavy. The top is cut straight off, without a lip and there are no seams. A purple paper label is around the vial. Chinese letters appear on the top of the label and "PAK WOO TON, YOUNG TUN CHOOK LAM'S MEDICINE OIL" appears below. All print is in black.

A dark green almost black vial. The vial is more oval shaped then round. The neck is round, and is cut off straight at the top. The neck-top is a separate piece which was added on. There is a cork in the top. The top of the cork is covered with a small round piece of metal. There are no seams in this vial. Three Chinese letters appear in gold, vertically on the front.

This Chinese hat is the style which is worn by peasants and coolies. The hat is constructed of bamboo and bamboo leaves. The wide brim measures 54.3cm in diameter and the height of the hat is approx. 22.0cm. The crown rises in a cone with curved sides, it is made of finely pleated bamboo with an interior lining of bamboo leaves covered with thin paper. The entire outer surface is covered with thing paper. The entire outer surface is covered with a type of glaze. The hat is worn squarely on the head and is secured under the chin with a cloth cord.

A black silk Chinese dress. The artifact is lined with turquoise-blue silk. The black silk has a floral design weaved in it.The dress buttons up the proper right side, directly below the armpit. Three silk eye-lets secures three flowered silk buttons. Aflap is sewn halfway down, attached to the back portion of the dress, to form a top. A square pocket is sewn to this inside flap and is concealed by the front. The top has two dual black silk buttons, one set before the collar and one set on the collar. The black is trimed with a thin black trim. The span of the arms is 140.2cm.

A light pink cotton childs dress. The pink has a flowered design, with a shiny pink thread. The sleaves are short with a cuff. The neck, cuffs, waist, and bottom are hand embroidered with blue nob boarders. The dress buttons up the back with three hexegonshape white buttons and a metal snap on the collar. The top of the dress, including the sleaves, is lined with pink flannel. There is a 1.4cm hem at the bottom of this dress.

A Chinese childs hat. Made of a square section of quilted red material. The corners being rounded. Two of the are sides folded in and the corners pleted. Each pleted corner has a ear with white fur sewn on the inside of each. The back of the ears are redwith a blue and black trim. In front of the two ears between the pletes two rows of thin blue and black trim are sewn in front of this are two strips of black silk with green flowered material between the strips. Hanging from the end of each plete is a cloth string.

A blue satin, Chinese woman's maching top and pants. The blue is a very light blue, which now almost appears green due to yellowing of age. The material has a light floral design. The top is constructed similar to a Chinese woman's dress. The entire outfit appears to have been sewn by hand. The top is 48.5cm wide under the armpits, the arm span is 139.5cm, the lenght from top to bottom is 98.8cm. The top buttons onto the N right side directly below the armpit. A single eyelet is below the armmpit but further down are a group of three, which secure nots of silk sewn to the front. Two more are on the shoulder down, attached to the back portion of this side to form the closed section the top. A square pocket is sewn to this flap. Below the flap the front and back portions of the top hang free. The trousers are constructed of four sections. The top section is a dark blue cotton material, which is the waist band. Thisband is 19.7cm wide. The waist is 49.8cm wide. The rest of the pants are made of the same silk material as the top. The leg is 82.5cm long from waist band to the bottom. There is a 6.4cm hem at the bottom of each leg.

A Chinese, childs pants. The pants are designed without a crotch, to make the use of diapers unneccesary. The waist band is a dark blue material, with two eyelets (Constructed of the same material) at the front of back. I cannot determine which is the front. The leggings are a very dark pink, with a floral design and are lined with a dark red material. The bottoms of the legs are trimed with a blue satin. This trim is 7.5cm wide. Above the former is anotehr trim which is purple with blue flowers and is 1.5cm wide.

A blue and white sailers style childs shirt. A square bib hangs over the back from the broad collar in the front. The sleavesare short, wide and have a cuff. Around the waist band. Interfacing is sewn along the inside of the waist, up the front (where buttons and button holes should be but arn't) and behind the neck. The material is a light blue silk with fine lines of a darker blue, and white diamonds with four dots around the diamond and one inside, between the lines.

A twin size pink silk covered quilt. Without removing stitching, the material inside is unknown. The silk covering is constructed of three lengths of the silk. One seam is along one edge, the other two are off center on both sides. There are four darts, (There should be six.) of green yarn, two in each corner area, and two in the center. PH1 2006 PH2 2007

A black paper and dark brown bamboo fan. The fan consists of twenty-eight strips of bamboo which are riveted together at one end. The rivet is a small section of bamboo. The top section of the strips are covered with black paper. The paper folds with eachsection of bamboo. Gold Chinese print appears on one side of the paper. When the fan is fully opened it measures 45.0 cm. wide.
