Rectangular frame, wooden, wood unknown, stained black outside. Edges bound with thin brass. Abacus is divided horizontally into two areas, the base area being much deeper than the top. Thirteen bamboo rods are evenly spaced at fixed intervals inside the frame. These rods run vertically the height of the frame. Each rod in the lower area holds five black wooden beads and each rod in the top area holds two black wooden beads.
Circular basket with sloped sides and flat base. Base is woven of split bamboo and rim/edge is of bamboo approximately 1.5 cm wide. Base is woven in square which then radiates outward in spirals. Inside of basket is golden yellow in colour and appears to be the outside edge of the bamboo the outside of the basket is darker in colour and has a reddish-brown tinge.
Chinese basket, made of bamboo with rectangular base and rounded (almost a circle) top. Open, has two handles. Base and 'ribs' of basket made of thicker bamboo, woven body of basket of bamboo and cane. Top rim wrapped with border approx. 3 cm. deep. Oriental characters in black painted/applied to inside of basket.
Chinese carrier basket; woven grass in three rings which grow larger in diameter to form "U" shape. Strap runs over sides and bottom and has loops for attachment to pole, perhaps. Stitched together with grass"twine". Strip folded to form edge.
Basket, oriental design, made of bamboo with fine basket work on body and sides. Base and ribs made of heavier bamboo. Base is rectangular with sides that flare outward and a top which is rounded. Base is in "Basket weave". Top rim has two handles attached on parallel sides, rim is wrapped with cane/bamboo in a lighter color and has five rows of reinforced caning which forms a boarder.
Basket, probably oriental design with rectangular base, flared sides and almost circular top. Woven of very fine bamboo or cane, wrapped top edge in a material of a lighter color.
Rectangular basketware box with lid. "Handwoven, made of straw. Floral design painted on lid. Chinese circa 1900". Made of unknown material - possibly raffia or similar material. Base and lid woven in plain weave in rectangular shape with rounded corners. Hinges made of metal wire. Sides of basket are slightly open having groups of fibres bunched together which are tied at the center forming a design. The lid has a painted floral design in colours of dark green, silver, yellow, purple, and red. Colours are faded in some areas. A narrow braid - similar to soutache braid edges the lid's perimeter and is held in place with thread. Outer edge of top and base of lid and of side edges is wrapped with a lighter coloured material. Two stays are visible on the sides which help support the sides.
Basket with rectangular base and circular top. Recorded information "Chinese Basket. Made of Bamboo and cane". Top rim is wrapped with lighter coloured material--probably bamboo. Base is woven in a rectangular shape with a reinforcement around the perimeter of cane/bamboo. Interior of basket is woven of fine cane with an outer covering of bamboo or cane pieces covering the outer sides with only space to interweve narrow cane pieces between each outer slats.

Cylindrical basket of wicker with wooden circular base (attached to wicker with small metal nails). Recorded information: "Basket, Wicker, Chinese." Width of basket increases with height. Base area (approx 2/3-3/4 of height is woven wicker), top has a flat band of wicker like material around the cane structure and this is held in place by a narrow flat band of braided material similar to wicker. This braid is laced across the top area and is wound around the wicker ribs of the basket. In several places this braid is attached to the wicker ribs with nails.
Chinese basket with rectangular base, sides flare outward to an almost circular top. Top is open. Bamboo construction with base and ribs of thicker bamboo. Top rim is reinforced with four rows of thicker bamboo, body of basket is woven or narrow bamboo or cane.
Rectangular basket with cover in the form of another similar basket which covers it completely. Woven in this shape with a support provided only by a thick rim indicating that the basket was probably steamed or shaped over a form to obtain the rectangular shape. Weave is unusual - similar to a herringbone weave in fabric. a: corners have been reinformed with leather which is attached to the corners of the basket with thread stitching. On two corners this leather patch has come off leaving remnants of glue and thread stitching. "Large Chinese travelling basket with cover. Blue boarder on 'B'. Used to carry clothes in." b: rim has been decorated with raffia in blue which has been wound around the stiffer outside rim. Some pink raffia has been added over an area of one corner. Pink Raffia has been stitched through the weave of the basket in a line down one side of the top. Stitching on inside around corners shows that this basket must have had corner patches on it.
Circular basket with lid used for sewing materials. Made of fine material, possibly bamboo? Has been stained a brownish red color. Lid is decorated with a thin braided cord of golden brown color. Circular metal medallion with Chinese characters is attached to the basket lid with a braid that has been knotted in an intricate design and has a pink glass bead attached to it. Lid is slightly indented in the center.

Actual weave of the baskets is unusual - similar to a herringbone weave three narrow strips of bamboo or cane are treated as one.

Pale green transparent glass bottle, square base. Bottle appears to made with a piece of hollow glass tubing with thick glass over it to form a bottle. A few small bubbles in glass. Recorded as, "possibly a Chinese medicine bottle."
Clear, glass bottle, circular base. Still contains some of original contents which are dark brown, and a dark brown residue covers the inside of the bottle. Paper labels on outside with Chinese characters on them. Bottle has seam lines down sides and a cork secured by a lead-foil covering in mouth. Bottle leans to one side.
Clear glass bottle, circular base sealed with cork and wax at mouth. Contains a fine powder of brown-cinnamon colour. Paper label printed with Chinese characters on side.
Cologne bottle. Transparent blue long-necked bottle. Two-piece mold. Chinese, c. 1900, probably held Florida or toilet water. Chinese lettering around middle of bottle.
Transparent, deep green, glass bottle, circular base. No seams visible. Possibly contained wine. Mouth will take a cork stopper. Recorded as possibly Chinese. Cork inside of bottle.
Pale green transparent glass bottle, circular base. Seamlines visible up sides of bottle, not on mouth rim. Very small part of original label remains (hand lotion 1890-1907).
