“What is known as Chinatown on Beacon Avenue, has been dealt a smashing blow, as it were, by a wrecking crew. The centre buildings in the group have been taken down by Mr. Fairclough of Coal Island, and it is rumored that the remaining buildings on lots on either side are about to be torn down.”
