Lytton Museum and Archives
The museum is housed in a Canadian National Railway foreman’s house built in the early 1940’s. The Museum opened on July 1, 1995 and has been operated by volunteers since then. We also maintain displays in a CN caboose across the street from our building.
Holdings cover local First Nations, early explorers, 1858 gold rush, early area settlers, Village of Lytton history, and the building of the Cariboo Wagon Road, the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Canadian National Railway.
We are open 7 days a week during tourist season. The rest of the year we are open only when volunteers are available. Research or group visits may may be arranged by emailing the museum.
