Scope and content

These objects are two model ships made of sterling metal with wooden carved bases. The bases of the ships have been carved so that the ships bottom fits into a central dip. The rest of the base has been carves with a variety of loops and swirls to five the appearance of waves beneath the ship. The carving is very intricate and the topside of the wood has a slight shiny finish. The ships themselves are identical minus a few minor details in the work. The ships are flat on the top with a rounded and shiny bottom. They are oblong shaped with a flat square bit on the front and a raised rectangular piece on the back end. The flat decks of the ships have been marked to look at though wooden planks make up the deck. On each boat there is five little men with hats on doing various tasks on the deck. Four cannons are present on the ships two on the raised back platform and two on near the center of the ship. A few other details are present with a wheel, hole in the deck and steering rudder on the boat. Two sails rise up from the ship one on the front and one in the middle. The sails have been detailed to look like fabric and one side of each is slightly taller than the other. Small wires are wrapped around the sails are various parts of the ships. The slight difference in the ships is that piece A has a small flag attached at the top of each of its sails. The metal is tarnished on the base of the ships.
