Lim Fi
Dear Editor, you ask me why
I should discourse on one Lim Fi?
I answer you as I thing fit
That in some circles Fi is “IT.”
For men may come and men may go,
(Life’s so uncertain here below)
But still Lim Fi remains extant
The Bossee of the Sulphate Plant.
Fi’s versatility’s alarming.
We heard he once went in for farming,
And for a reasonable rent
Has run a swell establishment,
Where one can board and eat one’s “licee”
And play Fan Tan at night, “all necee.”
Now, Lim Fi holds it base and wrong
To ply a trade that’s not his Tong;
And if you ask him why that’s so
He says “You know, you know, you know.”
Yet he has other aspirations.
T’wards brick-laying his inclinations
Are wont to tend. Just see him nimbly
Fixum flee blicks that fall down chimbley.
“A genius wasted!” you would cry –
That’s all this week about Lim Fi.
