CM 4186 Pipe Six nickel [?] pieces fitted together; pipe (A) with long slender neck vertical from six-sided base container; small spout protrudes vertically from this; neck at 45 degree angle just before upper end; tobacco [?] container. (B) six-sided; top hinged lid; underside with Chinese characters etched in; container & pipe fit side by side in holes of holder. (C) ends three-sided; Chinese characters etched on one side; two seated women in room on other; between pipe & container holes are two round holes for hollow cylinders (d-e); open grilled bases; thick rims; between two holes, projection for strap, (brown cotton cord) tied on ending with nickel [?] hook; card knotted in many places; slender tweezers (F); nickel (?); painted at ends; butt end with red straw [?] projection; tweezers can rest in pipe bowl or opening.

General note

Pipe owned by Lee On Sang who acquired it from a Chinese co-worker, even though he did not smoke himself. Pipe used by Chinese men employed at the British Columbia Hop Yard, Sardis at the end of the 1920s.
