Donor, Mrs. Murdoch, had obtained tea set pieces from Mrs. Cecil Mulhulland, who had obtained them from Mrs. Hardy, who had owned a herbalist shop on Victoria Crescent. Mrs. Murdoch's estimation was that the tea set was approximately 85 years old at the time of the donation to the museum. Probably purchased in Nanaimo's Chinatown.
